In addition to my daily work as a photographer, I am also active as a web editor at Zuyderland Medical Center. Sports photography is my greatest passion, but together with my wife I also take photographs on commission for various companies and organizations. Since our 'family' expanded with Murphy (our Border Collie) 3 years ago, we increasingly enjoy photographing dogs and their owners.

My style of photography is stylized, with attention to the story, timing, composition and background. Because I believe that you should never keep knowledge to yourself, I provide inspiring lectures/workshops and write articles and educational photography books.

Just like for a top athlete, the larger (inter)national sporting events are also the place to be as a photographer. That is why you have been finding them in athletics stadiums, sports arenas and along tracks for more than 15 years. I get my inspiration mainly from the beauty and love for the sport, but also from the personal and fascinating stories of the athletes, their families and the coaches. Being close to the action and experiencing the adrenaline of the athlete is something I need to be able to shoot my images.

My motivation is to capture the action, emotion and atmosphere at its peak in one image. Always looking for different angles and points of view in order to be even more original and surprising.
